Baby Shower by the Lovely Ladies at Calvary Baptist Church
3:20 PMWarning: Long and potentially very boring post ahead! This post is basically for the sole benefit of a very forgetful mommy, who feels that if she doesn't write all of this down she will likely forget most of it. However, hopefully as the reader of this long and potentially boring post, you will enjoy it too!
Well, last night was another night of fun, and excitement at our second baby shower for our little guy. I had a blast! Thank you to everyone who made the night so special for me. There was quite a turn out! I was overwhelmed by everyone's love, support, and generosity.
The theme was "Lil' Cowboy," to go along with our nursery theme, complete with several "cowgirls" and the music from Bonanza. The decorations were adorable! Thank you to all of you who put so much effort into them.
JoAnn Coates (Mommy to 3 year old twin boys) had a couple readings she shared. For those of you who didn't get to hear them last night, here they are.
and little boys grow up so fast!
Let me take time out to be
thankful mine is still here with me.
And though I'm busy through the day,
let me take time out to play...
Let me take time out to smile,
to sit with him for just a while...
Let me take time out for walks,
for swings and sports and quiet talks,
for sharing giggles, tickles, and hugs,
for patching knees and catching bugs...
For running races, climbing trees
for helping with his A-B-C's...
For hatching plots and planning schemes,
for listening to his thoughts and dreams.
Let me tuck him in at night,
hear his prayers, turn off the light.
And when my busy day is done,
let me thank God I have a son.

Changing a baby girl is not all glitz and glory;
Changing a baby boy is an even bigger horror story.
You hold his feet in one hand, and the diaper in the other;
The whole time praying, "Please don't pee on your mother!"
My favorite on was probably the "Who knows Mommy" game. This is one you all at home can play along with too. Feel free to either email me your answers, or post them in the comments. (No cheating by reading the comments before you put your answers down!)
1. What is my due date
2. What is the baby's nursery theme?
3. What is my middle name?
4. What is my ideal number of children?
5. What is my favorite tv show?
6. What is my natural hair color?
7. Where was I born?
8. What is my favorite dessert?
9. Am I a morning, afternoon, or night person?
10. What are the 5 most important things I will be taking with me to the hospital?
I will post my answers in a few days if anyone is interested.
We also played a name game, a question/random answer game, and baby gift bingo. It was all very fun.
Of course no baby shower post would be good without pictures, so here is a sampling of the decorations, the lovely ladies that came, and the gifts for the little one.
