Saturday
2:57 PMWell, the forecast was right (as unusual as that is!) and we got hit by quite an ice storm. I was somewhat mentally prepared to have our electricity go out for at least part of the day with as much ice is on the trees and power lines, but thankfully we haven't had any problems there. We did have a big branch come down in our back yard and take our telephone line down, but they were out within a couple of hours to fix that. That is the second time for that crazy line in the last couple of months.
Much to our relief, at this point we have had no scares of thinking we may need to brave the storm to get to the hospital. This may be the only time in the last couple weeks, or in the next week that I am REALLY thankful to NOT be going into labor! The weather is still looking pretty bad right now, but it is supposed to clear up by tomorrow, so anytime after that.
Since the roads are so bad, I got a bonus today-- Anthony got to stay home! He typically works 6 days a week, and has a lot of responsibility at church on Sunday's, so to have a whole day home together feels like vacation. We have been getting quite a bit done too. We found a crib on craigslist for $25 last night, so we decided to go ahead and get it. Today Anthony got that all set up for me, the old one taken down, all the bedding changed to the new bed, and sealed up the windows in the nursery as well. I keep thinking that we are completely ready, but then we find a bit more to do anyway. I am fairly certain that even if this baby stayed in another 9 months, Anthony would still have a few projects that he would like to get done before the little guy makes his appearance. I have been working on odd projects today, but have successfully rearranged my cupboards to the point that I can store all our bottles in them, so they are all put away now too. Of course there is always the mundane little jobs like laundry and dishes that you complete, but it never stays completed, so that has pretty much kept me busy today. Does it sound like we are nesting to you? I guess we will see!
Well, the camera is packed for the hospital, so no pictures of our ice covered tree or new crib today, but I will try to post some of the crib later-- hopefully with a baby in it! Hope you are all having a cozy afternoon.
