A lot of Hot Air and a Family Reunion
5:14 PMA and I had a great weekend! Friday night we headed out to John C. Fremont days to check out the hot air balloon illumination. Hot air balloons are pretty near and dear to my heart, but that is a story for another time. :-)T was so fascinated by the balloons he couldn't take his eyes off of them.
When we got to the field I saw some little boys (age 3-4) walk up. They had their ears covered and I wasn't sure why until A came and said they told him they were afraid those balloons were going to pop! Isn't it funny what kids think sometimes?
At dusk all the balloons lit up at the same time. It was really beautiful. Maybe someday A and I will make it up there in one.
On Saturday we headed up to our old stomping grounds for a picnic with A's grandma and extended family. I had no idea there would be as much family there as ended up coming. All of A's mom's siblings were there, and with 7 of them that is quite a feat! Grandma was her perky, spry self as usual. We enjoy visiting with her so much. It was amazing weather for a day in July as well. The whole thing seemed meant to be.
Here is a sampling of A's family. Hard to believe there are still some of us missing in the picture, huh?
It was a fun weekend being able to spend so much of it with the ones we love.
