Insignifican Nothings

12:54 PM

In my sleep deprived mind, I am at a blank as to what to even call this post. I am sure that I will ramble on about insignificant nothings, but if you are in the mood to read some insignificant nothings, I am happy to say that you have come to the right place!

Anthony and I had a lovely day yesterday out shopping as a family. That being said, I am completely amazed at the things a baby attracts. We have had some interesting experiences that never seemed to happen before we had this bundle of joy. For example, last night we were eating at Valentino's and some guy walked up to us and said, "Who is your baby's pediatrician?" In my mind I was trying to frantically think though any situation in which answering that question might bring harm to my child in a split seconds time... not being able to come up with anything I went on ahead and told him our Dr's name. I think it caught me most off guard because we had not had any interaction with this man before this bazaar question, including eye contact. It was so random. Come to find out he is a registered nurse that works in the call center after hours to answer peoples questions. He told us that if we ever call and are on hold to just mention his name and he would push us to the top of the line. Anthony and I were very impacted by this generosity... we are pretty sure the guys name is either Roger, Jeffery, Dean, or Greg. We are SO THANKFUL we have such great connections. LOL.

This week Nana, Tia, and Little Britches (AKA Mom, Katie and Little Brad) came down to visit for a couple of days. We had a lovely time. Tucker has grown so much, and mom mentioned that this is the first time she has gotten to see one of her grandkids at this age. Katie thought it looked like Tucker had been collecting spare body parts -- such as chins! Little Brad just loved being a part of everything.

He likes Tucker a lot, and always wants to be able to see what is going on with him. It was time for Tucker's bath and although he really likes bath time, he fussed a little bit when I put him in. Little Brad pulled his stool up to the sink and started rubbing Tucker's tummy saying "'so-k. Got-chew" over and over again. It was very precious. Little Brad has been fun to watch as he experiences so many new things with this little baby. It is all such a mystery to him.

There have quite a few "ahem" fun moments with Little Brad as he figures out the whole baby thing. I don't think I wrote about this yet, but if I did, just skip over it!
Right after we got home from the hospital with T, he was sitting in his swing in the dining room. Brad was eating his breakfast and I was getting a glass of water when T started fussing. Little Brad pointed out that T was crying, even though I was right there and could hear it (he is always very concerned about anybody crying) so I told him I thought T was probably getting hungry. When I turned around to go pick T up Little Brad was over there "consoling" him by stuffing Cheerios in his mouth! It was a great opportunity to talk about a child's development- like that babies have to get teeth before they can eat table food. Until then they have have to just "drink milk from Juwee's tummy." (a concept that is also a great mystery still)

Speaking of "milk from my tummy," there is nothing in life that has made me feel more bovine than pumping for the first time yesterday. It did work just like it was supposed to, but for those of you who pump all the time, I tip my hat to you. There have been many instances of feeling rather un-feminine, but that was likely the peak up to this point! I am so thankful that I do not have to return to the workplace next week and make pumping a regular occurrence.

Well, the fussing, restlessness, and irritability are signaling it is naptime, and Tucker could probably use some rest too! LOL. Ta-Ta for now.
