Christmas Traditions
2:16 PMThis Christmas season the question has come up again and again: What is your Christmas tradition?
When you get married there are always a few Christmas traditions that you start as you become your own family unit, but somehow now that we have T, it feels like Christmas traditions are more important than ever before. What are our Christmases going to look like in the future? What are we going to do each year to make the day a special celebration of Christ's birth?
A very special Christmas tradition in my family is when my Daddy prays a blessing over each one of us kids individually. I remember the year he started the tradition vividly. I am not sure what prompted it, or when he decided to make it a tradition, but each year as he goes around the room and lays his hands on each one of us and prays for us and blesses us, it is even more special then the year before. This is one I hope to carry on in our family for many years to come.
A tradition A & I have had for several years that relates to Christmas is getting a Christmas ornament on vacation each year. Then, as we decorate the tree it is a trip down memory lane of all the good times we have had over the years. We have decided to carry this tradition a step further by getting an ornament for T of a special memory of him throughout the year. I had a little trouble at first finding just the thing. This isn't T's first Christmas, but he also isn't playing soccer yet.
Then, I found this one!
It is perfect! T loves his bathtime with Daddy! As soon as he hears the water running he takes off for the tub and tries to climb in clothes and all!
